Smile 2002 CLK 430 Cabriolet power seat

I am a new owner of a 2002 CLK 430 Cabriolet. I need some advice as to how to find the problem with the drivers power seat(the one that moves the seat forward and backwards). The other functions such as the head rest etc. are working. I looked under the seat and did not see any restrictions.

Any info would help.
Thanks

Smile 2002 CLK 430 drivers Power Seat

Dear Chassis 221

Thanks so much. I have not had a chance to look at the fuses, but will do just that. It makes a lot of sense. I will keep you posted as to the results.

Smile power seat fuses

Dear Chassis 221,

I was reading the owners manual and it stated that the fuse box in the trunk is where the spare fuses are located. The fuses for operations should be in the engine compartment. Am I reading this wrong?

there are fuses in the trunk for the power seats. small black square box infront of the spare tire. there are also fuses for the seat under the hood too.

Smile Power seats

Dear Chassis 221

Yo hit the nail right on. The fuse was blown. It was the #6 fuse(25amp) in the trunk fuse box. The seat is now working fine. Thanks a lot.
Have you ever changed a bulb in the instrument panel? I notice that the bottom of the outside temperature indicator is barely visible, the rest of the indicator is fine. I`m not sure if that is a burnt-out bulb, or is it the display.

Again thank you for the advice on the power seat,

Dear chassis221

Is it a complicated process to remove the instrument cluster?
What are basic special tools?
