2001 CLK320 Top Not Working

2001 CLK320 Top Not Working
Hello All,
I am new to the CLK world. I picked up a 2001 CLK320, with 90k miles. Previous owner stated the top did not work. Not sure the issue, but hoping I can get some assistance.
When I release the top with the handle, all the windows go down. The top button iluminates and stays a constant red. I do not hear the motor or pump or any sounds.
The rear headrests/roll bar, I have manually tried to place in the lower or upper position, but no change. Should the roll bar automatically go up or down when I release the top?
I do have the luggage cover closed.
Where do I start?

ok so weird question but after you unlock the top and push the top up forcing that section to bend and you then holding the top button up while still holding the soft top open u till it pulls back itself??? Also you have to engage the parking break first.
