Just getting into Mercedes related stuff as I purchased my first fixer-upper CLK550 a little while ago. Now I need to swap the radiator. Oddly, it seems that radiators and connections have changed through the model year. Most available parts for radiators on sites like RockAuto have radiator models that have the transmission line connections on the inside of the radiator (facing the engine), wheras it seems that there was a change after 7/31/07 with the ports for the transmission cooler lines now being on the opposite side of the radiator (facing away from the engine)
While I tripped up over that, it also seems that the connections themselves are vastly different. They seem to be right-angle connectors.
This is where my question comes in. I have no clue how to remove those from the old radiator,. The have the plastic sleeve and clip (which I already broke), but more importantly I have no clue how they come out once you remove the plastic ring and retainer clip. Do they just pull out? Mine are unfortunately quite cruddy....
Any tip as to how to remove them from the radiator or what they look like new would be greatly appreciated!
