Hello all, I am looking for a bit of advice on the issues that a 1999 CLK430 would experience. I was gifted the car yesterday and it does need some work. To my untrained eye it needs brakes, shocks, there is some sort of drain on the battery, check engine light is on, driver's seat adjustment controls don't work, AC not blowing cold air. some upholstery issues, bodywork issues and the horn does not work. It starts ok (once we jumped the battery) and I drove it around for about 15 mins. I would like to know if it is worth the time and money to fix it up and what are the quirks and issues that I would need to look out for on the CLK430 series?

 

The vehicle is 26 years old. Go through the entire vehicle. If you don't have $3,500 to spend on maintenance and updates, sell it.
