Hi everone I am considering buying a used A class (old one) so would appreciate if anyone could point out the main points I need to look out for when buying.

I would prefer a diesel, could anybody advise whether they are cam belts or chains (both petrol and diesel) as I'm not sure and I was lead to believe that they have a service indicator, is it possible to over-ride this as I won't be getting it serviced by Mercedes?
