At the present time, the subject item is in the elevated position. Upon pressing the switch in the front center console, the two arms that are attached to his shade move two inches in a direction that would lower the shade, and then STOP. Upon pressing this switch again, the arms move in the opposite direction that would raise the shade. What is the explanation for this abbreviated operation?

 

Have you tried a few drops of lubrication? My shade tends to hesitate sometimes during deploy and retract. I looked at the mechanism and it is bone dry and dusty. I have not cleaned and lubed yet due to my back injury so I keep it deployed, since summer is here in Texas.
