Head bolts on Cl600 torque specs and sequence
As many of you already know. the Cl600 has a bad seal inside the oil cooler assembly thyat goes on top of the engine and under the heads. Took it off and to my suprise that gasket was not sold seperetly. Had to get a whole new oild cooler assembly. anyways got the heads and chain back on, now i need to torque my heads back on. Does anyone know what the torque specs and sequence is for the cl600 head bolts? called mercedes and they were just not to helpful. They said that there isnt any. LOL.
So i turn to you my cl friends. if you have any information. please respond

RE: Head bolts on Cl600 torque specs and sequence
Tighten cylinder head bolts in stages in the order of the tightening diagram.
1st tightening stage55 Nm .
2nd tightening stage 90° tightening angle.
3rd tightening stage 90° tightening angle
If you need anything else for this car let me know, do you have the timing procedure for the car? I just replaced everything from the head gaskets up in my cl 600, remember the head bolts are torque to yield so they really should be replaced. I know people that have not replaced them and didnt have a problem, but if they are streched you should replace them......fyi hope that helps.
