Default Wing Mirror adjustment - button problem

I have a C180 bought in 2002 and it has always had a bit of a contact problem with the mirror adjustment button. Everything is fine for both mirrors when I use the left, right and down arrows. However, sometimes the up arrow does not work and the mirror does not move. This has gradually worsened to the pointwhere it nowno longer works. It's certainly a contact problem with the buttonas it affects both mirrors.

(1) I've tried to removethe "light switch and mirrorcontrols cover plate" that's clipped into the dashboard, but my gentle prising with a screwdriver has achieved very little. How do you get this cover plate off without cracking the plate or marking the surrounding dashboard?

(2) If I can't clean up the button and get it to work, can I buy it as a seperate part or does it come as part of a complete unit?

Thanks in advance.

Default RE: Wing Mirror adjustment - button problem

Well, I phoned the local dealer to see if I could buy the switch. Apparently it comes as part of the "Light Switch Module" part 203 545 1404 and is colour coded to the car. It's attached to the dashboard with one screw but from what I can see, it's two.

Price is £141 plus VAT. - A bargain.
