w203 c180 komp starter
Hi the starter on my c180 komp is just spinning not turning the engine. Sounds like the Bendix. I took a local workshop, but the mech told me that he do not have the equipment to take starter off, and send for repairs. according to him, if one disconnects the battery the car will go into limp mode??? He said I must take to a equipped workshop. Any advice will be welcome. Thanks Zebraas

 

not true about limp home. i replace a lot of batteries, and the engine wont go into limp home. youll lose your settings on some stuff but it wont keep you from starting and driving the car.
