W202 throwing codes...?
Hello all! im new to this site and forum and i have a problem. I just boughta 1996 Mercedes C280 and it does not start. I scanned the car and it popped up 2 codes. The codes are:
EA/CC/ASC
115 CAN No Reception from HFM N3/4
and
HFM/MEZ
117 Attempted to start with RCL locked.
So i checked the remote locking system of the car and the key locking button works fine. It lockes and unlocks when i press the button. But now the i just bought another ecu and the car doesnt start. Any suggestions?

RE: W202 throwing codes...?
hellah fresh.
To diagnose this properly you will need to obtain a fault frequency (amount of times occurred) clear the faults and see which ones come back. The first fault code sounds like a faulty air mass sensor although in my expirience they don't tend to cause a no start situation. my suggestion is to if you can try looking at the ignition switch. if that is working correctly then it leads me to believe that it will be a crank angle sensor. as a faulty one causes a no start situation and 50% of the time they won't throw a fault code.

RE: W202 throwing codes...?
I see. So i went to clear all the codes that came up and only 1 code that i tried to clear kept coming back. It was this code here:
HFM/MEZ
117 Attempted to start with RCL locked.
I checked out locking system and everything works out well. But other then that no more codes but this one. Im going to check the ignition switch and the crank angle switch today. Im currently at work and the car is here as well.
