Could someone please help me , i have a lack of illumination on my speedo and wish to change the bulbs i have changed them on my 203 however i can not see how to remove on my 99 c220 .

 

You need to pull out the entire cluster. The bulbs are replaced from the rear. You can use the special Mercedes tool to pull the cluster or bend a coat hanger with just a little lip on it to pull it out. If you use the latter method best be careful not to damage the dash surrounding the cluster.

 

You need a tool that looks like a thick gauge wire with a hook on one end and a handle on the other. You can buy this tool from eBay.

Be sure to order the bulbs beforehand. They aren't available at autozone. Seems like the dealer wanted $4 each for the little bulbs.
