W202 Cold Start Problem ABS/ESP/BRAKE
Greetings to you all!
I have a bizzare issue with my 00 C200 W202 Automatic 42k miles. On cold starts the ABS/ESP Disk Wear and Brake Lights come on and the car goes into limp mode (will only drive in second gear and reverse and the speedo does not work. Also the boot will not open) After numerous restarts the lights go out and the car drives perfectly and everything functions as normal. After some investigating various forums I tried some resets and replaced the battery but to no avail, so yesterday I went to a local garage and put the car on a laptop to probe errors which resulted in eliminating the usual suspects: speed sensors, brake switch, engine temp sensor. One error that would not clear was a "CAN ABS/ESP/ASR".
I did replace the brake switch and the engine temp sensor because they were of little cost and easy to replace, but no joy the error is still there on cold start.
If anyone out there has come across this problem or similar all feedback would be very appreciated.
