Default Tyre size question (HELP ASAP!!)

Hi Guys,</P>

I have a silver 280Sport on a nice set of AMG alloys...17x7.5J...they have Uniroyal 215/45R17 tyres which have been nice.....but they need replacing soon....should I have 225/45/r17s on these alloys??</P>

Also do you have any advice on tyres.......I used to run Goodyear Eagle F1s on a Sierra XR4x4 2.9i<IMG src=smileys/smiley16.gif border="0"> here in the UK...this is a saloon car not a truck...think Ford Merkur if you want an image in your mind..those of you in the USA.They were gr8<IMG src=smileys/smiley4.gif border="0">...any recommendations for the C280 V6 on Sports Pack Spec suspension.....</P>

Thanks</P><edited><editID>C280 V6 (UK)</editID><editDate>37993.7535416667</editDate></edited>

I wouldnt see why not. The major thing it will change is your speedometer reading, but I think it should only be around 2-5 mph at 65 mph (3-8 kph at 105 kph). The minor effects would be very slight loss of acceleration and very small decrease in gas mileage.
The alloys themselves wont have a problem supporting the bigger tire since it is not a large gain and the new tire would not be any wider. Hope this helps.</P>

Hi there,</P>

With regards to your tyre size 225/45 R17 seems fine. I'd use Toyo Proxes, these tyreshave just awesome for grip, and are not too expensive either.</P>
