Strange Noise
Help,
my 1995 Mercedes C180 auto has started making a strange noise when the engine is toiling.
Occassionally, when driving around town, the car struggles a bit up hills (1.8litre underpowered for size of car) but recently when the engine toils a strange noise has started.
It sounds like (and this is the only way I can think to describe it) like a plastic bag flapping and rattling around in the wind from under the bonnet.
Its a high frequency flapping noise.
It disappears if the car changes down a gear or is kicked down a gear.
Any ideas what it could be?
