Default Starter problem

My wife's '96 C220 is turning over very slow. This has been occuring for at least 3 months and the engine is cranking very slow now. The battery is fully charged and once it starts there are no other problems. The battery terminals are clean and no warning lights are on. It seems to point a starter problem....but has anyone experienced this and found a electrical problem in another area? Now for the funny question, I have yet to locate the starter on the engine. Any opinions are appreciated....... thanks in advance......

check well the ground cables and clean the terminals again.

make sure the contact is good.

...or else it is the starter.

Thanks for the info sleepwalker. I checked the terminals which were clean. Now for the tribute to a Mercedes battery. Even though it had a full charge, the battery had a bad cell. Just enough amperage to turn the starter and start the car. Well a new battery took care of the problem.

Take care all......
