Speedometer acting funny
I have a 94 C280 and luv it. The last 2 or 3 days it's been very cold outside. When I satrt the car the speedometer doesn't move until I reach about 15-20 mph. After it warms up, it seems to work alittle better, but still it seemsto have a mind of its own. Any ideas or isit just the cold weather/
Thanks in advance

RE: Speedometer acting funny
Hi - try doing a search for "sticking gauge" or something in the area. The "can response" is circuit board is going out, replace the cluster. That is not always the case.
My '95 had the same problem. Mine was the speedo and fuel. Over time there seems to be a residue that comes from somewhere and caused the pegs the gauge needles rest on to become sticky. In the summer the heat causes the "stuff" to remain pliable and the needles would work properly. In the winter, the sticky stuff isn't pliable; therefore the needles are "glued" in place. A temporary fix for me was to straighten out a paper clip and stick it through the opening the dash light adjustment **** comes through. I was able to slightly lift on the speedometer needle when starting out cold and it would work properly. (this was when it completely quit working).
The final fix was pulling out the cluster and cleaning the pegs and needles with rubbing alcohol.
