Default signal lights

sometimes, the signal lights just don't work...nothing comes on when I try to signal... this has happened 3 times in 2 months, 2 of the 3 times was when the fuel gauge was in the yellow.... any correlation with gas level? is this some kinda warning system for low gas? thanx

Default RE: signal lights

The following is info I posted once before about this problem.

I had this done under warantee on my 02 C230 coupe.
As you have found out the bulbs and the old turn signal holder create arcing if they are loose (many cars have loose fitting sockets) which causes intermittent signal failure. New bulbs don't solve the problem. Both of mine failed. A new wiring setup covered under my warranty included new turn signal holder sockets and a new direct wiring harness to both sides of the socket.
Vehicle only has 27000 lm on it.
The gas gauge has nothing to do with this problem
