This should be real simple PCV Valve question
I know this is typically the easiest thing in the world to replace on most cars, but I have never done it on a mercedes. So my question is how do I replace the PCV Valve on my 98 C280? Thanks guys.

Lugnut I don't done have a clue, I have looked and also looked in parts books and never have found a reference or part number for a PCV valve, at least the type use in American cars. Also, when I had the Bimmer, one tech told me BMW doesn't use them. I suspect it is vented thru an rectangle box on top of the engine that has a hose into the intake toward the back? If there is a PVC valve where is it? My other guess is the thru the EGR and or air pimp.
By the way the SL 500 turned out to be too good to be truth as they say, it rode horrible, wouldn't stay in a straight oil, oil all ove the engine and the saleperson wouldn't let me take it up on the highway?? Sleepwalker when hot it smelled like burning oil and puffs of smoke came oout of the exhaust when accelerating quickly. But the salespeson offered it to me for $16K if I signed write then and there. I said no thanks, sell it to some other sucker and left.

I can't find a PCV valve either. But the crankcase has to be vented. I'm just wondering how M-B does it. Some complicated BS thing that costs $1,000, probably, instead of a $2.00 simplistic valve.
Remember when American car engines used to die after about 50K miles or so? You had to be a skilled mechanic to keep one going up to 100K miles. After that, fuggedahboudit. Nowadays, American car engines go well over 100K miles and many easily get to the multi-100Ks. The reason why is crankcase ventilation. It removes corrosives from and also reduces sludge buildup in the crankcase .

Your correct, I check a diagram of the emission systems and there is none. All there is, is an EGR pump and rubber lines, the diagram just showed the parts and not how they are inteconnected? But I've looke in all sort of after market catalogs, Fram etc at parts store and the PVC show NA on my car and older Benz's also.
