I'm considering buying a 2000 C230. It belongs to my parents, they are the 2nd owners. It only has about 45,000 miles and is in very good condition. My hesitation is that I live in Michigan and travel the state in my sales job, at least 40,000 miles per year. Is this a good car to expect to drive 800+ miles per week, or will I have a lot of maintenence issues driving it that hard? Also, will I have any luck driving it in the winter?
Please let me know what you think.

Dear CapnTom.
The c class your asking about is a decent car. they have their problems like all cars do. Common problem number 1- if you here a clicking noise from the dash when the heater is on don't stress it's not going to cause any damage. the 203 does however have a nasty nack for wearing out castor arm bushes and sway bar links. if the terrain is rough you will find yourself replacing them on a regular basis. however the engines in the 203 are generally reliable and thrive on constant use rather than sitting in the garage as a weekend car.
I hope i've been helpful.

I would recomend a W203. 2001 and newer. better built and better looking. I have the 2000 C280 and it looks great from the outside and then you step inside and their is a cheap looking plastic like interior. ahhh. Or I would recommend a W210 E Class. an excellent car for the money. What ever you buy make sure you get it inspected becasue if not it will hurt you in the end.

Overall the w202's are reliable and yes I would recommend one, especially a last year model, but it all depends on how much they are selling it for and your financial standing. Just have deep pockets ready for when things do go wrong.
