Default shaking - C320

Sorry my last post ("regular unleaded") caused such a stir. Not my intention. I did take my car in for the "shaking." Apparently, the brake pads needed to be resurfaced and the rotars (sp?) machined. I picked my car up and everything was fine...until this morning, it did it again!

I guess I should have specified that the car is not in motion when the shaking happens. It shakes once I have braked and the car is stopped. Engine problem? I have no clue. I haven't even had the chance to put gas in my car since I've bought it. (to set the record straight - I do not have a problem using premium)

It's really frustrating to buy a car and it have problems right away. I seem to always have "mysterious" problems with cars. And since the shaking doesn't happen every time I stop, it's hard to SHOW someone what is going on. Therefore, I am stuck putting my car in and out of the shop.

I don't even have license plates on it yet!

Now what? We can mark "brake problems" off the list.

I just bought a 01' C240 automatic about 4 months ago. It has 20K miles and I have a similar problem that started 1 month ago, it has happened about 5 times only -I can not duplicate at will- On a stop light the car starts shaking / stalling but does not die, after 5-10 seconds it recovers or when I accelerate runs fine. Another time it did not stall but when I accelerated it took about 3 seconds to respond. After this happened the first time; sometimes (about 6 times) when I start the car in the morning there is a raw fuel semll that last a few minutes and then it goes away. Some days it runs perfect..... I've look in the forum but the closest that I found is that there might be some faulty sensor not bad enough to be detected. I took my car to the dealer, they did not find anything wrong and could not duplicate the problem, I do not want to spend tons of $$$$ troubleshooting this with the MB dealer since they do not give an accurate diagnostic or until the "computers says something is wrong".
Can someone help on this? It seems that we are experiencing the same problem. Thanks!

For the rocord, sorry for the last thread getting so off topic... My 05' C320 shakes and the idle goes way down when I have my steering wheel turned all the way to either side. I just started noticing this, and am not sure whats wrong. Taking it to the dealership to have the brakes replaced, so will have them look at this too [&:]

If you find out the problem, share your wisdom! In the grand scheme of things, I am just wondering if this is a sign to bigger issues other than just shaking. I am going to fill my car up with gas (premium, of course) and put some fuel injector fluid in it too to see if that helps.

I would caution you about machining the rotors. Many MB rotors are smoothed in a circular motion, and machining them has been known to cause problems. Sometimes the rotors will crack and other stuff you don't want. It's possible your car had rotors like normal people and this isn't an issue, but I would check.

the engine doesn't stop, does it?

if you really steer to the end stop, then the pressure is higher and the engine load as well which might bring down the rpm a bit.

It's a 2002. It doesn't die, it just acts like it will stall out, but it doesn't die. I'll try the steering.

Could be a faulty MAF sensor. Could be dirty MAF sensor or throttle body. Anybody check either of those?

No the engine doesnt stop, but feels close to it. The car runs like a top except for if I'm stopped, say backing our of a parking spot and waiting for traffic to go through and my wheel is cranked to either side. Mine does it every time, i've tested it in the garage and just turned the wheel all the way to either side and it really starts sputtering. I know its not a gas issue, it's only ever had 93 and higher octane.
