Resetting milage of service A
Hi all....
I have a C200 Komp. 2002, coupe. My service A is coming up soon and i am not gonna take it to the agent.. So i asked the garage i am going to take it too if its possible to reset the service milage, he said he will open the panel and reset it without using anything computerised or something... So i am not sure if thats the normal or is my car gonna get messed up !!
Thanx for any reply

RE: Resetting milage of service A
Unless the procedure for resetting the service counter has changed since 1999. All you need to do to reset the counter is a sequence described in your owners manual using the button that controls the trip mileage. You don't have to open any panels or use any computer devices. This shop doesn't sound like they know much about Mercedes cars, I would be careful about letting them service it. I found an independent garage, who's owner and tech both are Mercedes, BMW and Audi ceritified. As they worked at these respective dealerships before going on their own.
If you don't have a owners manual, let us know and we will write up the procedure. I don't remember off the top of my bald head the exact sequence.
