Replaced CD Changer
I removed my CD changer and the sound went out. Obviously, I now know about the whole fiber optic loop deal. I put the CD changer back in, but the radio does not recognize it. "No CD Changer" Any ideas, I hate driving without tunes?????

RE: Replaced CD Changer
I just bought a cd changer for my 2003 c-240 and was wondering by default from the factory is the cable for the cd changer already there? i bought the car recently and it didn't have a cd changer and im interested in a DIY install. anyone care to help guide me in the right direction?

RE: Replaced CD Changer
The cd players are common problems. Go to the dealer and request to buy a remanufactured unit and new magazine. You can get a reman unit with 1 yr warr for about 250-300 from a dealer. This is your best bet. Otherwise, you can attempt to bypass the d2b ring by manufacturing a "loop" which is used for diagnostics, bypassing the changer.
