I recently purchased a 2003 C240. The rear shade stopped working a few weeks ago. When I press the button, I can hear a faint clicking noise, but the shade does not come up. The Texas summer is just around the corner so I would like to solve this problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

hi, you need a new sunshade, its a bitch to replace too must remove seat cushion and backrest and headrests and hatshelf.

 

I would first try pulling it up by hand while someone is in front to push the button. It may just be stuck and need lubrication on the sliding bars. I am not sure what lube would be appropriate. It might require a dry lubricant.
