My rear headrests will not go down. When I push the button to drop them I can hear a clicking noise, but the headrests don't move----could this be a faulty air pump--------if so, can someone tell me where's it located--------thanks for your help

 

I have a 94 C280 with the same problem. I did find a way to get the back rests togo down. They each have a vacuum valve that can be pushed by hand and it will release the head rest. The rear passenger side can be done from the trunk. To release the drivers side, you need to remove the rear seat and back rest to get to the valve. I'll be watching to see if someone comes up with he answer. I suspect it's a vacuum problem. mine did work awhile back, but not now.

Look underneath your intake manifold for a grey vacuum line that is often knocked off during oil changes.You will see it running near the filter compartment,follow it with you hand to makes sure it is attached on the tit.
