Default Question about gas tank door and sunshade

I've just purchased 2002 C320 MB. And it's time for gas refill. And what I noticed - gas tank door is not locked. So everyone can have an access to gas tank? I read manual and it says - just push the door .... it doesn't say anything about lock.

I'm wondering if gas tank door has a lock?

Also when I got my car back from inspection (car was lifted up) on the way home I noticed that my sunshade got stuck and not working anymore. It was working just fine 1 day before. When I press a button to raise the sunshade I can hear a click, motor tries to raise sunshade, but that's it, it doesn't go up.

I hope the sunshade is just blocked. I'm pretty sure it's simple thing but I couldn't figure out to reach the sunshade. From the trunk? No way. Any thoughts.

Thank you from newmember

The gas tank door is automatically locked when your car is locked.
It is open when you have opened the doors to your car.
It is part of the central locking system.
Shan.

I see your point!!! Fixed!!!
Locking the car (all doors) should lock the gas door. But it didn't in my case because the door (a whole) was a little bit banded, and a pin didn't go through that whole, and door was remaining unlocked.

Thank you so much sleepwalker.

My first question is closed.

Any thoughts about rear sunshades? Must be stuck but how to access them?

WOW. What a great forum!!!
Thank you sleepwalker so much.
That's exactly what I've been looking for. I meant those charts what you attached. Can you believe - I bouth on eBay a CD - manual and repair for my model, waited 9 days to get that CD and it turned out - that CD doesn't cover my year, all descriptions so poor. Of course, I got a refund. But I waisted 9 days.

Anyway. Yes, I tried to pull out that sunshade manualy, but all what I could do - to insert my fingers between the shades and rear shelf. Sunshade doesn't go further - so I gave up, I was afraid I can break it. As I understood - I need to get access to motor. And here began my problems - how to fold cushion, how to remove rear shelf, etc.... It's damn not so easy. And your attached charts - that's what doctor prescribed. Thanks again.
Looks like I have some homework for tonight. Summer is coming and this got to be fixed.

Will update you later.

BTW, do you mind to tell me where did you get that manual repair documentation, because I'm sick looking for it.

thank you again

best regards
