so, this morning after a long drive the engine check light came on,but car seemed to be driving fine. then after I parked and left it sit for a while, the light went off as normal after I started the car. I went to my mechanic still, and he checked for fault codes, and he did find a fault code. it was p2553: Throttle/Fuel Inhibit Circuit Range/Performance.
He has absolutely no idea what that means. he checked for split hoses and loose MAF plug, but everything seems to be in place.
when I was driving back home, the light came back on, but again, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the way the car is driving.
Any idea what this fault code might be please, and what it actually means?

 

So what kind of car are we talking about here??

 

It's a 2005,c class c 200 cdi facelift model.
