After installing a new car door, I found that the electronics worked in the door, the new door’s power window worked, and the battery was still on. However, the ignition will not turn over. I have turned the ignition over a few times, but the car will not start. Mainly, the ignition is locked in place.

I think I may have triggered some sort of anti-theft security sytem when removing the original door ( I did snip one wire). Does anyone know why the car would not start? Is there a wire in the driver’s side door that will trigger anti-theft if the wire is removed or if the entire door is removed? Please let me know if anyone has info.

My car is a 1999 Mercedes C-230.
