Hi, I'm new to the forum. We bought both of our daughters a C230 sport Kompressor,2000 model,both good deals and low miles (on ebay, of course)! We were thinking that they last a long time and don't break down as often as some other makes. Both girls love their cars, but we didn't consider before buying that we don't know of a mechanic nearby. We live in the Brenham/College Station/Bryan area of Texas, and if you know of anyone, we would appreciate it. The newest one has 38,000 miles on it, and my daughter says the lights and radio stay on for up to 30 minutes after she's turned it off and is out of the car. I almost had her disconnect the battery to reset it, but then I didn't know if she had to havea code for the radio to do that. Does anybody know? Also, she needs a spare key, the funky electronic black thing. Do I have to get it through a dealer?
The other one has almost 70,000 miles now, and the red wrench light is blinking when she starts the car. I figure that means its time for regular maintenance, but am not sure, since both my husband andI are out of the country, and neither one of my kids are good about reading and understanding owners' manuals.
If you know of any mechanics in between Houston and Austin, please let me know.

In San Antonio I use Global automotive.Work onMercedes and BMW at about 1/2 dealer prices and use OEM parts. Worth an hours drive for the savings.Usually 2 day turn around. Do not count on same day for most jobs since parts are from out of town supplier.
