Need Help with 300ce alternator removal

Not sure this is the right forum but here goes. Have a cream puff 1988 300ce with 45K actual miles and a bad alternator. Have searched online to no avail. Am looking for some step wise instructions on how this thing is attached and how to remove it as well as diagrams if possible. Just get a big hammer and beat on it until it falls off. It's dead anyway, right? HA! Just kiddin' ya.
I'm wondering if a service manual is available online for that vehicle. It must be somewhere. Have you thought
of doing a search for one? I find these things invaluable for older cars I work on and always good to refer to before
