Buying a 05 C230K
I have been searching but I am unable to find direct, recent answers. Hopefully, maybe someone can help me out.
I am looking to purchase an 05 C230K. It is extremely good deal but the miles are a bit high, 48121. I have read that W203 are very good, however, I am undecided on purchasing an extended warranty. I vowed neveer to get another one, but it seems feasible in this case.
1. What is the upkeep/maintenance on the C230 averaging?
2. Should I get an extended warranty?
3. Who does headrest monograms? (off the wall I know..hey, i'm a chick:naughty: )
Anything other suggestions are welcomed.
ETA: If anoyone can look up dealer service records please PM me.

RE: Buying a 05 C230K
I have an '05 C230K with 132,000 miles on it.
The extended warranty paid for itself at 60K when the supercharger bit the dust.
Yours may not. Or it might. I wanted the protection to 100K, and it paid off.
Consumer Reports and others say don't buy a warranty. Hmmm. Roll the dice.
Are ya' feelin' lucky???
Service A and Service B are the regular maintenance procedures that will appear on your dash display.
The "A" service is a fancy oil change and check up for about 200, give or take a bit.
The Service "B" is more comprehensive. Usually a few hundred plus whatever they can talk you into.
Don't know about monogrammed anything, sorry.
You might want to CARFAX that car as well. Up to you. Hope this helps.

Thank you. I am leaning towards the service warranty because the parts are expensive, however, I have been aganist it because one one of my other cars my radio went out at 36200 miles and the dealer wouldn't cover it on the manf. warranty and it wasn't covered on the extended warraty (well thats what they told me). On my SUV, something was wrong with my brakes/tire/wheel, tire sensor, and airbag, and the only thing they covered was the problem that was wrong with my brakes/tire/wheel and only because my SA got in their a$$.
I ran a AutoCheck report on it, everything came back fine. Allegedy they guatantee the car (fine print seems okay). From 2004-2006, 18k miles, 2006-2007, 19k miles, and 2007-2008 11k.....somewhat consistent. Do you think I can call the MB dealership and get the service records (I am buying it from a Lexus dealsership)?

You may or may not get anybody interested in giving you prior service records on that car. I'm not sure it's necessary to do that, but you can give it a try. I understand your reluctance not to buy a service warranty. There are (usually) so many exclusions hidden in the policy that it can be frustrating when you have a problem and they won't cover it. I don't want to tell you that fixing these cars is cheap. It isn't. Parts and labor can be pricey. But all dealership work is pricey these days, yes? With proper upkeep, and it doesn't take that much, that car may last you a long time with no big problems. Some people must have a warranty for peace of mind just to enjoy driving the car. Your decision.

Isthe C230 your buying at a local Mercedes dealership or another car lot/dealership? If possible you may want to try to locate one at your nearest Mercedes dealership that is certified and still under manufacturers warranty. Sure you will pay a tad bit more but in the long run it will be worth it. Extended warranty is ok but at times can become a headache to get certain things fixed also make "sure" they explain what is covered under the warranty especially when it comes to normal wear parts versus items that will be covered under warranty.

Ty for your responses. I opted to buy the warranty from warranty direct instead of Toyota (Lexus dealership) because it covered wear and tear. This is an extremely nice vehicle and so far I have no complaints....well, 1..........the side mirrors are small!!!!
