My C230 died at a stoplight today
Hey guys, first time poster, unfortunately in this case. I was in a left turn lane today in my '99 C230 (best place ever to get stuck), had been sitting there maybe 20-30 seconds before my car gave a bad shutter and died. The engine, instruments, radio, all died. The instruments and lights immediately came back on, so I don't think it was the battery. I put it in park and tried to start it again, but it just kept turning over, over and over again. And the strangest part was that about a half hour later, after I'd notified a towing service and the Sheriffs' Department, it started! I got it home with no problems after that. My thought is something is wrong with the starter, preventing it starting, but then I don't know what made it die in the first place. Has anyone else had this or something similar happen? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Never owned/troubleshot a Mercedes, but I don't believe it has anything to do with the starter. Definitely sounds like fuel or spark. Cheapest attempt at a fix is try to replace the fuel filter if you know how to do it yourself. If you take it to a dealer there may be some code stored that shows what happened if it was computer related.
