Default More warm start issues

HI,
I've been having a problem with my 2002 C220TDI in that if I go on a drive and leave it for less than an hour, I can somtimes have real problems starting it again. A couple of times I've had to leave it overnight in car parks and then pick it up in the morning. I took it to a garage to be looked at and they diagnosed 2 faulty glow plugs, and also found that the glow plug controller was sending too high a voltage to the plugs. I got all that changed and there was a slight improvement in general start up (the the glow plug error light dissapeared), but I've just discovered I still have this warm start problem.
The man at the garage has suggested that it as fairly common for the hoses to degrade and it could possibly be that. I've had a good search through this forum and found that this problem is fairly common. So far it seems like my best potential areas to look are:
1. Crank and Cam sensors.
2. Fuel hoses
3. carburettor
Does this sound reasonable? I've already thrown money at the glow plugs and controller, and would like to sound like I know what I'm talking about at the garage! ( I don't)
Thanks in advance.

Just for completeness:
I've had 3 fuel lines replaced and this seems to have solved the problem. I've only had it back a day, but I was able to start it immediately after a 20mile journey this morning - so hoping that this has fixed the problem.
