Default Moon roof

I have a 2002 C320. Everytime I go to open my Moon Roof, it won't open all the way. I hold the switch to open and the roof only opens about an inch. Even if I use the one touch feature that opens it all the way it wont open. In order to open the roof I have to keep hitting the switch over andover again an inch each time. When I go to close it I have to hold the button and time it to let go of the switch to make it flush with the top of the car. Help! Switch? or Motor? or anything else......

My '05 C230K is now doing the exact same thing. Just happened about a week ago. EXACT same symptom.

Can somebody here, a MB tech, help us both out here??? Is it a switch???
I know these things are really pricey to fix if it's a motor or otherwise.

Waiting to hear from somebody who knows for sure on this one.......we both thank you I'm sure.....

Its kind of a weird situation. It didn't start doing this until I got my caution display for my brakes being warn down. The display says.. See Maintenance shop for brake wear lining. The whole time its been doing this. I am just like when it rains it pours. Welltoday I took my car to my buddies garage to change out my brake pads. I also changed out the brake sensors. On the way home I wanted to open my moon roof. So I started to hit the button over and over again and the roof opened up normal. The switch works fine now. I have the slightest idea why it works now.....

it lost its normalization, just close roof then push button in or to the vent position to raise the back up. hold for 10 seconds and then roof should work normally. if no success try again if stil no success you could need a new motor because the pinch protection is faulty and the roof thinks there is an obstuction and will do that.

I just realized I have a panaramic moon roof problem. I'm in Phoenix so I haven't opened the moon roof since May and have had the shade closed too. Sothetemperaturefinally dropped below 100 and I tried to open it up only to find that the button won't hold and so the shade opens in spurts and the actual moon roof won't open at all. Am I doomed? I was about to trade the car in for a new one.If it's the motor or whatever, how much does that cost to fix?

Now this is really odd....I kept hitting the button to open the roof. I must have pushed it 75
times. Now it works perfectly. Go figure. Maybe switch was "sticky" from not using it all summer
here in Phoenix. Don't really know. Works now. Thanks everybody for the moral support!
