metal clip on rear window seal
Hi everyone,
The metal clip at the centre top part of my rear windshield went missing. (this is the tiny clip that covers the junction of the weather strips)
Went to the dealer and purchased the clip (the first guy looked at it and actually ordered the wrong part!) I sniffed around a number of other C-class and noticed there should be another V-shaped piece seated inside the groove of the weather strip.
Question: I don't think I have had any leak after rain or carwash after it went missing. Is it okay if I don't clip it back on? Or should I get the V-shaped piece as well and put them back in ASAP? It is kind of not easy to clip it (I tried and I didn't want to force it too much to damage the rubber seal).
Any feedback would be much appreciated.

RE: metal clip on rear window seal
I would replace both pieces, it might not be leaking inside the car, but water will get betwee the molding and the body and eventually rust. Got to a glass place they can pop it on in 5 minutes, I would also asked them to run some clear silicone sealant to hold it and keep water out. My C280's was loose and moving around so I dapped some silicone in the mounting area and moved it back in place. Good preventive maintenancd.

Thanks Allan. I have already purchased the two pieces from the dealer. Less than 10 bucks. You are right. It may leak in-between. I'll take your advice and put them in place this weekend. Happy Thanksgiving (if you do celebrate).
