MB CPO - for third owner?

Good evening!
I have a question for the finance / warranty gurus:
My gf's 2001 C240 was purchased by her in Nov 2005. The car was at 47,000 miles, she is the third owner. The car was purchased off an MB lot in 2003 as a Certified Pre-owned(CPO) at around 19,000 miles.
She was told if she did not buy CPO Extended Warranty her car would be covered for only a year.....which I think means they felt she would hit 50,000 soon and the CPO Limited warranty which covered the car from the second owner would kick in for 1 year / 100,000 miles (whichever comes first deal). So she purchased the warranty.
The problem: her coverage was 3 years or 100,0000 and now at 87,000 her coverage timed out. Does anyone know if the one year CPO limited should start at the 50,000 mark??
Any help on this topic and understanding of CPO overlap is super appreciated!!
Thanks.

Your girlfriend should had waited to purchased her extended warranty right before the 1 year CPO warranty expired not when she bought the car. What might have happened is they started counting her 3 year warranty from the day she purchased the warranty. The dealer was shady for making her purchase the warranty too early. First second third or tenth owner do not matter, the warranty goes with the car, not the owner. Lexus is the only one I know you cannot transfer the CPO warranty.

Thanks for the thoughts.....we explored the paperwork from her sale and yeah they were a bit shady. BUT they did actually hold off on starting the extended warranty for one year from the sale of the car, meaning it started in Nov 2006 when she bought it in 2009. So they did give her a year beyond her 24 month warranty.
BUT....the shady part is: she felt she bought a 36 mo warranty and the contract states a 24 month product. Is that possible?
