M wiper does not go to rest when shutting it off
Hi, My C 280 1996 The Wiper works in all speeds, "BUT" when I turn in OFF the wiper stops at 10 o'clock meaning it does not go back all the way down to rest / stay at the down driver's side, hence it is a recipe for failing the VIRGINIA State Inspection. I did open the cover at the end of the wiper and sprayed with White Lithium Grease, but that did not help, In view that that the wiper works, then it is not the motor, so what is it? why the wiper does not go all the way down to the resting place ?
Thanks in advance for any help
Thanks in advance for any help
It never stops in a different place, it always stops at ten O'clock which is the wrong place, it needs to stop at the resting place all the way down, but it does not anymore, it used to though for over 10 years, why now, it stops in front of my face? this is grounds for STATE REJECTION sticker when I go for my annual State Inspection. Thanks for asking N_Jay
My wiper will never park correctly where it should, it has been over 2 months now, when I turn off the wiper (switch) it parks at 10 O'clock in front of my face. So in view that the wiper works, it is not the motor, in view that the wiper works in all speeds, it is not the fuse or relay, so what is it then? Well today, I removed the whole assembly and put it on the floor and found that the aluminum RACK is broken, so the assembly is in two pieces, and so I fixed it, SEE PHOTOS, I drilled 4 holes on the rack, attached 2 brackets, and now the bracket feels very strong, I put everything back the way it was, and tested for the operation and all is successful, the wiper parks where it is supposed to, it cost me nothing, just 4 hours of my time in the garage. If the wiper will last 2 or 3 more years, I will be happy.
