Lowering a 96 C200
hi guys, i have recently fitted MAGS to my car which i really like, the next step is lowering the car. I just have a few questions
- The difference between
* Getting new springs installed to lower the car
* Changing the whole suspension setup to lower the car
Also i want to buy my own springs and take them to the place to lower the car that way i only pay labour, can anyone help me in finding the right springs for my car??
Thanks guys for your assistance its helped alot

First question is why do you want to lower the car?
Second, get Eibach sway bars. THEY ROCK and will improve your handling GREATLY. I would do that first.
Next, I would consider new shocks if the one's you have a lot of miles on them I recommend Koni adjustable....
Springs you have to make sure you get shims. They have 5 different thicknesses for the front and 4 for the back. If the car gets lowered, it will affect the camber and will probably make the rear camber offset 2 or more degrees off. This will result in nice handling, but increase in inner tire wear.
I am not sure about your suspension, but you probably don't have an adjustment for camber. Also, check your tie rod assembly, you might have to replace it as well as lower control arm bushings.
First make sure the rest of your suspension is in tip top condition first.
Replacing sway bars is the best thing you could ever do.
