Default Key trouble w202

Hi guys, meant to be getting my car off to a mechanic tonight but been having such a problem today.

My car is a 1997 w202 c250TD.

My key (it's one with three buttons) think it's IR and RF might be wrong.

It unlocks the car/locks the car/opens the boot all with the buttons.

When I put it in the ignition I no longer hear that electronic "click" that it used to and I can't turn the ignition. Just absolutely nothing. I have no idea what to do. I can't get the car even out of park so I can't move it.

Things I've tried.

Charge car battery
Change batteries in key
Check IR working with digital camera.

Can someone please tell me what I can try?

Thanks alot.

Try this 3 times:
1. Close the driver door,
2. Put the key in ignition /you should hear audio signal which mean that car computer recognize the car key.
3. If you do not hear audio signal, pull out the key, OPEN and CLOSE driver door and try it again.
In this case car computer and car key do not communicate as they should. Sometimes my car do not recognize car key but solution as I describe above always work out for me.
