I almost sign the paperwork but my bank was closed allready so we need to wait till monday

And later when we took car home i realized that sunroof is not working well.

To open it all teh way i need to push the button like 5-10 times, every 2 inches it stops.

When trying to close it it moves very slow specilay in the end.

When it close there is very loud jerking noise coming from motor.

Same noise when am trying to open it up - it doesnt open at all

And the shades don't work - until i manually turn the bolt a maybe twice - then it closes and opens.

I will get an discount from the dealer, but car has no longer warranty. But am not sure now if this is worth savings?

Must make my decision by monday.

Simple problem, easily fixed without the dealer mark-up! It sounds like you need to reprogram the top and possibly service (lubricate) the motor. I found a MB shop that did this for my 2000 C230 and paid $80. good luck, and keep the car it is an iron horse!

 

Yeah...its no biggie. Just another easy fix.

But I have always wondered.....why cruise control and sunroof are such delicate matters on these king of the cars!

 

I ask myself that same question frequently... My first Benz was headed for CarMax over a $90 problem that went under the radar of several mechanics!

Worth the money but not always the frustration!!!

 

I give the car back to the dealer and get my 100% money back. There was more then the sunroof wrong with this car...

Now am enjoying 2002 with 40K under warranty in MINT Condition ( 1 owner ), and sunroof is awsome ( specialy when works ).

I didn't know thats they are so fast...TT is kinda slow...
