HELP!Where is the Brake Switch on a C320?
Help, Help!!!I have a 2001 C320 and when I drive it the sensor occasionally flashes"BAS" and something about "ABS". It then says visit"The workshop." Well since my wife is not working due to a newborn baby, I thought I would try to change the Brake Switch myself. I bought one at Walter's MB in Riverside for $25.00 and came home and thought I could change it easily. I pulled the plastic cover off under the steering wheel, butI can't find the crazy brake switch. Is this switch under the dash and do I have to remove anything else to get to it?? Any help is appreciated!!

RE: HELP!Where is the Brake Switch on a C320?
Hi Matt,
The brake switch is just above the brake pedal and it is a bear to get to. There is a large block of sound deadening foam just below the steering wheel and above the brake pedal that you must remove to get to the switch. I had to lay completely upside down with feet up by the head rest to get to the switch. Do this replacement before you eat....I did mine after eating a huge meal and almost got sick. Unfortunately, replacing this brake switch did not solve my problem though!! I am still getting the ESP, BAS, ABS, Brake Lining Wear Visit Workshop error codes. Talk about frustrating! I will probably just take the car into the local Mercedes repair shop to have it looked at.
