Help! Wheels not fitting my 240
I just bought 225/55/16 tires mounted on 8Jx16H2 ET36 wheels and they don't appear to fit. They are within 1/16" of the springs on top and appear to be just brushing against the strut. I was told that they would fit but... any way to make them work without spending a fortune?

I have used 225/50R16s on my original 2001 C240 Rims. They fit nicely, look good and give the car a much better stance.
To me they seem to also give me better handling and road holding than the 205s in fast cornering.

RE: Help! Wheels not fitting my 240
After going to the shop yesterday, I found that the wheels are made for a 14mm lug and mine are 12mm. They said that they will not be safe and could fall off. I believe that I hit a dead end.
