help identify this part

I have a 1994 C280. Just finished replacing the water pump which stopped the coolant runout on the garage floor, and lets the car run safely. One last question remains, can you help me identify the hose in the picture , it is about 1/2 inch in diameter. There is a clamp on the end not attached, in the picture below the red
tip of the oil stick and to the right inside , two smaller cross infront of it. A simple diagram identifying whats what under the hood would be great. If anyone has one to email me that would be great.

thanks for the diagram. the hose is a vacuum hose. The service engine light came on after the water pump was installed. The freon was low and the vacuum hose was not connected.
Once those two things were corrected, we are up and running. THXS>
