Default Identify a part

I have a 1987 300E. I am trying to identify a part on the engine to get a replacement but no one seems to know what it is. The local Mercedes Dealer wont even look at it unless I pay them a fee. As you look at the engine from the front of the car. On top of the engine block to the left of the dip stick is a small orange plastic part that has two (what im assuming) are vacume tubes connected to it. These tubes go back underneath the air cleaner housing. One of the nipples that the hose connects to broke off so I need a new one. Does anyone know what this part is called. Any other information on this part and what it does will be appreciated.

I had that same thing happen to my car. I just took something "Gorilla Glue" or JB weld and carefuly glued it back in place.

Thanks for the info. The only problem is the nipple is so cracked and weak that there is no way I can glue it. Looking down the nipples (cant think of a better name) it does not appear to be any opening underneath? It actually looks like it just sits on top of the block. Like I said any other information on this thing would be appreciated. Its funny how the smallest things can be the biggest pain in the ***! Thanks again for all your help.

Default RE: Identify a part

I finally found the name of the part. It is called a Thermo/Vacume Valve and it costs around $30. Easy fix.
