Default HELP HELP CALIFORNIA EMISSIONS QUESTION

I am literally hours away from purchasing a beautifully maintained '95 280 C with a mere, extremely pristene 80,000 miles on it.
As I was going through all the paper work the owner has on the car, I saw the original bill of sale. On it where the list of features is, there is also a list of extra features and their costs. Under that category was "California Emissions Equipment" with an N/C where the cost would be. Curious what this means,....
As I will be driving this car when I move to LA it stuck out like a red flag...

Is it N/C for no cost and I have the right equipment?

Is it N/C as in some type of not applicable and I am going to have to purchase this equipment....
Any ideas...?
Thanks

N/C means "no charge." The car has "California Emissions Equipment" and the price was hidden in the base price of the car.

Ah, thanks...
So why wouldn't they list that under the features that come with the car? Just above the "extra" options?
Curious...???
I'm getting it for $6685...
I was hoping to get the price down, but then someone else came along and offered her the asking price, so I could either take it or leave it...
It's immaculate though, doesn't even look lived in at all...

I'm just guessing at this, but I think it's because in '95 a car could have either CA Emissions Equipment or Federal Emissions Equipment, so it was essentially an option. I don't know what the differences were, but I think there's just one now because the federal equipment was modified to meet the CA standards. Again, I'm just guessing.

Yeah, the car looks very nice. I hope you get it.

As nice as it's outward appearance is, you'll want to make sure the owner was as concerned about engine maintenance, i.e. oil changes. Also, check for oil seepage from the cylinder head and ask if wiring harness was replaced. Though the wiring harness problems may have been fixed by 95, that engine has a reputation for blowing head gaskets. That said, it looks great and if I were looking, that car would catch my eye.
Good luck. BTW, before I plunked down my money, I’d have the car checked by a mechanic.

thanks !!
Checked today with Mechanic.
Not my guy(but I don't have a mechanic here) but the guy here in NYC that has done things with it, at the dealership....
He said they call her, "Ms. ****" that when she brings the car in, she says, "just fix whatever you think needs doing, don't call me, just do it."
She has the fluids changed every 2500 miles, has records to show for it...
He even showed me on the computer everything he's done with it..
Looks like he probably made some good money off of her but it all panned out beautifully...

I've decided to buy it...
I think with the way she's maintained it and been **** about it, I can't go wrong...
I'll be posting more as I will enjoy and appreciate any and all assistance...
Can't wait to be part of the MB family...
