Default california emissions control QUESTION

Hello Everyone

I have a 2005 E320 CDi and I am moving to CA. Does anyone knows if the car is California emissions certified? I know CA is a tough state when it comes to emissions control. Did anyone here go thru this process before?

I don't know the emission demands they have in CA, but I do know that there is in fact some VW Passat TDI's in CA now (05 mod), which also have been flash tuned.
Your 05 MB cdi is not so bad regards to emissions. What you might think of doing, is to flash new tuned software into your car ecu. This will not only give you more power (dramatically higher) but it will also reduce your cars emission. Check out www.obdtuning.no and their system, and for dealers in USA - in fact the main distributor is located in CA for the system. The flash system has tuned files for most MB, VW/Audi and other European cars.

If your car were not CA certified, it wouldn't matter what anyone did to the ECU. The good news is don't worry. By '05 the Federal and CA standards matched.
