Default Hello all, new C230K owner here...

Hello forum members,

I just purchased my first MB. I got a really good deal on a previous loaner car from my local MB dealer. I was hesitant to buy it because it was a loaner, but it seems to be in great condition and is certified with warranty. It is a 2002 with 50,000 miles on it. Hopefully I didn't just make the most horrible purchase in my life by buying a loaner car (its the car they give you when you bring your MB in for service). They sold me on the fact that the car has always had its required service and it is covered for the next 12 months or 100,000 miles.

I have a couple questions for you MB C class lovers. Number 1: did I make a mistake buy purchasing a loaner car? Number 2: What are some of the aftermarket cosmetic or audio upgrades that you might recommend. Number 3: What are the best bang for the buck performance upgrades you would recommend?

Not being a stranger to forums, I'm sure one of the first replies I will get is to do a search for the answers to my questions... so far I have read every post in this section, so I've done the homework... but I'm still left with these 3 questions. The only question I've seen addressed so far is number 3 and it had to do with pulleys and I'm assuming the post was referring to Renntech pulleys as they are they only ones I have found to date offering performance upgrades for our C class MB. They have pulleys that give us 20hp and a ecu upgrade worth 10 hp from what I remember reading on their site.

Oh, as a side note... I sold my turbo mazdaspeed miata to get his MB. My gf can't drive a stick so I really got this car for her (she just loves MB, god bless her). I have to say though, I really am enjoying this little car. Never thought I would own a MB, but now that I do... WOW... this car comes with a ton of comfort features I didn't even know existed, not to mention the dealer service... totally outstanding... I might just keep buying MBs from now on

Thanks for any advice or opinions for this first time MB owner!!!

Congratulations!

Welcome to MB Forum.

My 2001 C320 is my first MB and I'm thrilled with it.

Bang 3 Buck, I've only just purchased K&N Panel Filters. On my v6 they give better throttle response, other than that - just Mobil 1 Oil on the service.

Best Of Luck

I'm also a new member, so welcome! I'm also a first-time Mercedes owner as of Sept. 2004 when I took deliver of my 2005 C320 Sport Sedan, Orion Blue on Alpacca leather. I am brand new to the forum since the first year and a half of owning the car has been entirely problem free!

I don't think it's a mistake to buy a service loaner. I'd say that's one of your best bets when buying a used Mercedes. Thats odd that they had an 02' as a loaner until 2006. My dealership gets new cars atleast once a year. Everytime I brought the car in my loaners have been current model year and under 5k kms. Last week I had a 2006 ML500 with 85kms on it!
