Default Fuel filter location for 1988 420SEL

I purchased the thing and would love to replace the original (185,000 miles). Also, when it cold, it is extremely hard to start ... but if the outside temp is over about 65, it fires right up... ideas?

Thanks

if its like any old merc they should be located on the passenger side back underneath under a plastic flap if its been undersealed it will be a bit hard to see but its easy enough to change just keep an eye on the two conecting metal pipes that go to filter for corosion
