I'm attempting to sort some things out here with an '87 300E and for whatever reason can't seem to "find" the fuel filter....Traced the fuel line back from the gas tank to the engine compartment and for the life of me can't seem to locate it. What makes matters wose is that I know what it looks like and have even surmised (duh) that it has to be located on the fuel line someplace given the front and rear connections. Would someone kindly enlighten me with the general location here w/o too much flame? Tks.

there is a plactic pan under the pass side in front of rear end 3 nuts hold it on then you will see the pump and filtrer, hope this helps
