Front Brakes C230
I have to replace the front brake pads on my 97 C-230.
I've done front brakes on P-911, BMW 2002, Toyotas etc..
any anomolies with Mercedes brakes?? //
Best jack point for front end??
torque specs on calipers??
I'm still looking for tech manual for a C230..any leads?
thanks for any assist

RE: Front Brakes C230
I just did the front pads on my 99C280 and it is a straight forward procedure, However I would the jacking points on the car and not the front under the front end and I would put the car up on jack stands. Getting back to the brakes, on my C280 I used a bunch to knock out the two retainer pins and then took the clip off and the old pad came out, we will need to push the piston or pistonsback a bit to get the new pads in. Go to www.mercedesshop.com, they have a do it yourself section and show how to remove brakes from an E class, toward the bottom of the page where the photo shows pics on how to remove the pads is where you want to start.

RE: Front Brakes C230
I've got a 96 C220 US version torque specs.
I don't know if this can help.
Front Caliper mounting bolts 85 ft.lbs (115 N.m)
Rear Caliper mounting bolts 37 ft.lbs (50 N.m)
Floating caliper guide pins 18 ft.lbs (25 N.m)
That's all I can offer, hope it helps.
