Default eratic idling 2003 c230 kompresor

Hello, I am new to this forum but I read some posts on here the other day about other people having similar problems. The symptoms are when cold starting my idle idles up and down and seems to run very rough. sometimes,in addition to the rough idling, once again usually just in the morning or when the car has been sitting all day,the car will actually stall when coming to a complete stop. I read that it may be a vaccuum hose and I was wondering where the hose is located and how difficult it is to replace on your own or if I would need to go to the Mercedes service shop?

You should contact the service rep at your local MBZ service department to see if the 2003 is covered for free repair under the service bulletin for the vaccum line replacments. Even after the repairsit may still idle a bit rough in the early morning but I found that letting the car warm up to optimal running temp helped to calm the issue before setting off. Good luck.

Thanks so much for your help. I called the dealer and gave them my VIN# and the vent tube is covered under a recall so I have an appointment for Thurs.
